What is this campaign about?
In the rural areas of western Nepal, there is a dangerous tradition called Chhaupadi, which considers women impure during menstruation and forces them to leave their homes. This puts their lives at risk, exposing them to hypothermia, animal attacks, and serious illnesses.
Rato Baltin has been working on the ground for eight years to eradicate this practice and improve the lives of women. This year, Ruby Cup has donated 1,000 reusable menstrual cups, a tool that will change the lives of many girls. But now we need your help to deliver them.
Each menstrual cup not only improves the hygiene and health of young women, but also helps in the fight against Chhaupadi, empowering women to experience menstruation with dignity and safety.
How can you help?
Your donation allows these menstrual cups to reach the hands of the girls who need them most. Every contribution counts and can make a significant difference:
- €13: Delivers 1 menstrual cup
- €26: Delivers 2 menstrual cups
- €65: Delivers 5 menstrual cups
- €130: Delivers 10 menstrual cups
- €260: Delivers 20 menstrual cups
How much does it cost to reach the villages?
Distributing the cups in Nepal is not easy. The villages are in hard-to-reach areas, requiring long journeys through mountainous terrain. This is where we need your help the most:
- €500: Covers the costs of a 9-10 hour Jeep trip to and from a village.
- €250: Monthly salary for a Nepali trainer who educates girls on menstrual cup use and menstrual hygiene.
- €80: Materials to train a local girl who will become a mentor, supporting the beneficiaries and ensuring community follow-up.
Your donation can change lives.
By supporting this campaign, you are helping thousands of girls experience menstruation with dignity and safety, freeing them from a dangerous tradition that threatens their lives.
